Vines
The vines of the Domaine des Chênes are managed through organic viticulture methods. Vingrau is located in the driest area of France and this dry and windy climate is an ally against vine diseases. Moreover, the pines and garrigue which encircle the vineyard permit the minimisation of agronomic intervention. When working the soil, we favour ploughing which obliges roots to plunge deeply to search for water. Harvests are carried out by hand with selection in the vineyard. Yields are very low. The domaine is characterized by a large proportion of white varieties, which is an exception in the south of France. Numerous vines are over than fifty years old and contribute to the complexity of our wines.
